Isle would like to personally thank each and every racer, spectator and sponsor for making Americas Finest Paddle Race an amazing success! With close to 100 paddlers providing some epic battles for pole position under sunny San Diego Skies. The first ever SUP Race to be held within the NTC channel at Liberty Station!

Americas Finest Paddle Race 2012
Set in the heart of San Diego, on the calm waters of Point Loma’s NTC Channel at Liberty Station this event shall be a unique opportunity to be a part of a really exciting race venue. Spectators can witness & cheer the racers on from the shoreline as they battle it out toward victory.

Race Day Details
The race will consist of a 1 mile, 3.5 mile & 4 member team relay race. Race Day will start at 9:00 am & will include a Paddlers Expo with paddle-sport related vendor booths, afternoon SUP clinics, multiple brand board demos, product raffles and of course the opportunity to share the STOKE & camaraderie with San Diego’s rapidly growing Paddling Community.

Paddlers of all ages & skill levels are encouraged come on down & join us in the fun & take advantage of this opportunity to race with, as well as give back to our military vets through the automatic contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project of $5 from every tendered entry.

When: September 22, 2012, check in at 8am and first race at 9am
Where: NTC Channel at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Farragut Rd & Chauncey Rd. Click for Map
Cost: Public Entry $45 - Military Entry $30 ( Gets you into the 1 Mile Race and or 3.5 Mile Sprint Race)
(Relay Race Teams will be formed & the $10 separate entry fee will be collected only on the day of the race)

Please note race mileage is approximate

  1. 1 Mile ‘Fun Race’ ( 1 Lap of the NTC Channel)
  2. 3.5 Mile Sprint (2 Laps of the NTC Channel)
  3. 4 Member Relay Race (Short Course 4 Laps) Relay Race Entry Fee $10 per person
    *Must have at least 1 female paddler

Each Registered Paddler will receive:
- Entry to the 1 Mile Fun Race and or 3.5 Mile Sprint Race
- Goodie Bag & Lunch (1st 100 to Register)

- $5 From Every Entry will be automatically donated to the Wounded Warrior Project

Board Categories
- Board requirements and limits

  • Surf SUP: maximum length 12’2”
  • 12’6 Stock Race SUP: maximum length 12’6”
  • 14’0" Class SUP
  • Knee and Prone Paddle Boards: maximum length 12’0”

Age Divisions - Awards to Top 3 finishers in each age group for both Male and Female in All Categories

  • 17 and under
  • 18-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60+

- At least 3 racers must register & participate in any division or that division will be dissolved or merged at judge’s discretion
- Due to the “Short Course” format; “Unlimited Class” boards will not be competing in any race
