Choosing A Surfboard
Choosing a surfboard doesn't have to be a pain in the neck anymore. At Isle Surfboards, we want to provide you with all of the information you need to make an educated decision. We have lots of sizes and graphics to choose from, in addition to information that will help match the right board for your skill level. At Isle Surfboards, we believe that surfing is a great sport for all to enjoy, and hope that you are ready to begin the learning process when choosing a surfboard.
Where to Start When Choosing?
We have well over 40 years of surfing experience and know first-hand just what surfers are looking for. Our surfboards are specifically designed for the wear and tear of everyday use, and our prices are geared for those eager to jump into surfing but don't want to spend their entire paycheck on a new board. When it comes to picking a beginner surfboard, remember that bigger is normally easier.
- The longer the board, the easier it is to balance while riding a wave. With their added weight and length, longboards are a great choice for those who are still learning to balance, and need the additional stability.
- Once you've become comfortable getting to your feet and are ready to progress, consider trying out a fish board. These boards are a lot of fun since they provide extra width and thickness, making paddling and catching waves a breeze. Once you have learned to maneuver around on a longboard effectively, the fish is a great way to begin preparing yourself to progress into riding a shortboard.
- When choosing a fish board, you will be able to select between our quad fish and retro fish models. The twin-fin setup of the retro fish loosens up the tail of the board, allowing for easier turning capability while the tri-fin on the summer fish provides added drive down the wave. We offer the summer fish in a sanded-finish, while the retro is constructed with a gloss and polish finish, allowing you to choose whatever style you like best.
